"Hedonism has spawned a generation of thrill seekers and the phenomenon of extreme sports. Even worship is not exempt from hedonism as people go where worship is most pleasurable, imagining that the worship of God exists to make them feel good...If we are captive to the pursuit of pleasure, there is little chance that we will introduce others to the pleasures of God. Our singular home, and by extension the hope for those we would attempt to influence for Christ, is to let the Scriptures define and direct our pleasures" (Hughes 38-39).
"For everything created by God is good, and nothing is to be rejected if it is received with thanksgiving" (1 Tim 4:4).
