We got word early Friday morning that we are to pick up our son, Ezra, this week, from Korea. So, we are leaving tomorrow afternoon out of SFO. And boy, I am so excited, but also, our hearts ache as we get ready to leave our kids. So, for a special family event, we went to YogurtLand after dinner for some frozen yogurt. Judah piled his yogurt with a disgusting concoction of un-blendable toppings, but he just loved it-- so much so that the end of our trip was ruined by a fit of anger (because he didn't want Mark to feed him the last bite) that led to some discipline afterward. But, he's learning...slowly but surely. And even with that (in front of multitudes of people at the shopping center), our hearts are still heavy with the thought of leaving these darling kids of ours.
We are filled with anticipation at the thought of meeting our new son. We are praying that he might bond easily with us, that the kids here might transition well, and that we would trust the Lord with the outcome. We are thankful that after two years, we're about to come to the end of this journey, and the beginning of another.
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ, just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we would be holy and blameless before Him. In love He predestined us to adoption as sons through Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the kind intention of His will, to the praise of the glory of His grace, which He freely bestowed on us in the Beloved. Going to meet your son for the first time... That's just amazing and unimaginable! Our prayers are with you guys as you go!
